Another concern we had was the selection and supervision of subcontractors working in our home. Would they be careful, neat, and clean? Would they be sensitive with our belongings and responsible in their approach to things? If we were going to remodel, we did not want to experience the problems other people we know have had when they remodeled their home. Peace of mind was very important to us.

We decided to remodel and we engaged Mike Kirlin to do it. We couldn’t be happier. The result was awesome. We still receive compliments. Kirlin remodeling does quality work performed by caring committed professionals. They are like a friendly neighbor who you can always count on.

We are completely satisfied with the work they did. They gave us peace of mind. We would do it again. I can tell you, if we ever build, Mr. Kirlin will be our builder.

I wanted to write a few brief words about Mike Kirlin and the entire Kirlin staff. Being brief will be the biggest challenge since I could go on and on about my house, and my experience with Kirlin Custom Homes.

When you spend upwards of a million dollars on a house you expect a certain quality. Mike Kirlin exceeded my expectations. In today’s fast sell, “see you later attitude” I did not expect the personal service I received from Mike and his entire staff.

Before we even purchased the house Jeanna Morey was quietly working behind the scenes making everything move smoothly, faxing this or that, making phone calls and making sure everything was scheduled. I have never been to a better closing.

When we moved in the house, it was perfect. Every little thing I had noticed and was planning to point out was taken care of, and should we have any little problems “not a problem, give me a call,” was Mike’s answer.

You’ll notice that so far I haven’t even mentioned the craftsmanship of our dream house. That is because what stands out about Kirlin Custom Homes is not only the quality of the houses they build, but the people who build them. I can say without any hesitation that Mike Kirlin is not only a great builder, he is an even better person, a man of integrity and one I trust implicitly.

As for the house, every morning I wake up, I feel like I am at a 5 star resort. The details in the cabinetry, the lighting and the hardware all are beautiful and you can see quality was his first objective.

I know the real value in the house is in the engineering. I researched many builders and none do as much as Kirlin Custom Homes. They over-engineer a house, which for such a large investment makes me feel better. I know for example, they have taken all precautions to make sure my slab is firm. I know that each shingle was hand nailed since nail gins may go through the shingle and potentially cause a leak. I know that my house has been designed and built by people who are passionate about what they do.

This past week I had some men over to hang pictures and do other odd jobs. They work for Kirlin and a number of other builders. To hear what they said about a Kirlin home really cinched it. Being familiar with the other builders work, they said “while others are good, Mike (Kirlin) is so far above it’s not even on the same scale.”

I can honestly say that I hope to not move for a long time, but if I ever do it will be into another Kirlin home. I cannot recommend Kirlin Custom Homes highly enough.

Earlier this year it became apparent that our current home no longer met our requirements and expanding the house was out of the question. So we set out to find our perfect home – not too big, not too small, just the right number of rooms without superfluous space and a design that wasn’t like every other house. That’s not asking for much, right?

How quickly we found out otherwise. We started by looking at a large number of pre-owned homes. There wasn’t a single house that came close to what we were looking for. We moved on to new homes that were already completed. Same issues. Too many bedrooms, amenities that would never be used, not enough storage or garage space, wrong design and location and so on.

So, the big question was whether we could compromise and settle for a house that really wasn’t even close to what we wanted. Our answer was NO WAY!

We had heard all the horror stories from friends and family about building your own home. But we knew it was the only way we were going to get exactly what we wanted. We started by researching custom homebuilders in the area and selecting a handful of leading builders with whom to meet. We soon found out that their idea of custom was their preconceived notion of what the house should look like inside and out and minimal to no flexibility in doing anything different. Things were starting to look bleak for getting our perfect home!

To us, custom also means quality. As part of our builder’s evaluation process, we inspected the new homes the builders had already built. On one particular day the wind howled from what seemed like every direction. In almost every home we looked at that day you could hear the wind and feel the draft. And then we walked into a Kirlin Custom Home. No noise, No drafts. And every section we looked at was extremely well built.

We quickly set up a meeting with Jeanna and Mike from Kirlin Custom Homes. Our luck was already starting to turn, as they owned an undeveloped lot in Lakeside on Preston that offered a great amount of potential. We walked away from our first meeting very impressed and somewhat in shock that they actually listened to what we wanted and were excited to make it happen.

As we moved through the process of designing our home, the staff at Kirlin has been there every step of the way. They have been extremely proactive in handling every requirement or concern. When we had architectural issues in achieving our perfect contemporary home layout and façade, they worked overtime to find just the right solution. When our ides were not the best, they steered us in the right direction all the while making us think the change was our idea. When we wanted to add touches that were special to us, the answer was yes even when they weren’t their mainstream designs. And, as we moved through financing and closing, they watched over our shoulders to make sure we were taken care of very well.

Most importantly, everything Kirlin Custom Homes does is in a very friendly and professional fashion. They are both fun to work with and very serious about building our home. Even though construction of our home was only recently begun, we are extremely satisfied with the tremendous effort we have seen to date. Every day we eagerly look forward to the completion. We are also positively sure we selected the very best custom homebuilder in the Metroplex when we decided to build our perfect home with Kirlin Custom Homes!
